San Francisco Law School saw the passing of
one of its most devoted alumni September 16, 2003. A graduate
of the class of 1955, LeRoy began his own practice in which
he remained an outstanding litigator and a champion of rights
of the injured for almost 50 years.
Truly loving the legal profession,
LeRoy is survived by his wife Kay Holley, also a lawyer, and three
daughters Nancy, Linda and Jill, two of whom, Nancy and Jill,
followed him into the practice of law. LeRoy and his daughter
Nancy have led the firm of Hersh & Hersh since 1971.
Ever a leader in the legal
community, LeRoy was past President of the San Francisco Trial
Lawyers’ Association, The lawyers’ Club of San Francisco,
The California Trial Lawyers’ Association, served on the
Board of Governors of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers’ Association,
was the recipient of its lifetime achievement award.
LeRoy has been an inspiration
to San Francisco Law School and its students. Serving as a valued
member of its Board of Directors, LeRoy was honoree of its Hall
of Fame in 2001. San Francisco Law School, its Board, faculty,
staff and students have lost a mentor and a true friend.
The Hersh family has truly
honored San Francisco Law School by requesting donations to the
LeRoy Hersh Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers.
Donation forms are available
here or may be requested by calling Jane L. O'Hara Gamp at
