Elder Law

Richard B. Hechler, Esq.

 

Mr. Hechler, an Assistant District Attorney with the City of San Francisco, has worked in the Elder Abuse Unit investigating, charging and prosecuting over 150 cases of financial exploitation, undue influence and assorted scams targeting elderly victims.  Mr. Hechler, a graduate of Golden Gate School of Law, has taught Elder Law at San Francisco Law School, Golden Gate University School of Law, and the University of San Francisco, School of Law.

 

Elder Law is rapidly growing specialty within the legal profession. Its practitioners represent the most vulnerable members of our society.  The topics to be explored will include, elder financial and physical abuse, nursing home litigation, Medicare, Ombudsman, Adult Protective Service, Public Guardian duties, EADACPA (Elder and Dependent Adult Civil Protection Act), as well as conservator, consent, undue influence, and end-of-life-issues.

 

Dates: Classes will be held July 11th and 12th, 2009.
